We are an international engineering and design consultancy company currently developing a hotel project in Uruguay. For the successful execution of the project, we are seeking local construction procurement specialists with strong experience in sourcing contractors, materials, and finishing works within the Uruguayan market. The Construction Procurement & Local Sourcing Specialist will play a key role in supporting the project team by managing and coordinating procurement activities for construction works, building systems, and finishing materials. The role requires strong knowledge of local suppliers, contractors, market pricing, and construction practices in Uruguay, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both local stakeholders and an international project team.

- Lead and support procurement activities for construction works, building systems, and finishing trades.
- Identify, evaluate, and prequalify local contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Source and compare materials, finishes, and equipment, ensuring compliance with project specifications, budget, and quality standards.
- Prepare and manage RFQs, tenders, bid comparisons, and procurement reports.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and warranties with suppliers and contractors.
- Coordinate closely with design, engineering, and project management teams.
- Monitor local market conditions, price trends, availability of materials, and lead times.
- Support contract award processes and assist during mobilization and execution phases.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and construction practices.
- Act as a key local interface between the international client/project team and Uruguayan market participants.
The tools in your backpack:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in construction procurement, sourcing, or commercial roles.
- Proven experience with building construction projects, preferably hotels, resorts, or commercial buildings.
- Strong background in procurement of construction works, MEP systems, and interior fit-out / finishing materials.
- Hands-on experience in the Uruguayan construction market (mandatory).
- Established network of local contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of local construction costs, contracting models, and procurement practices.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple procurement packages.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with international clients or multidisciplinary project teams.
- Background in hospitality or high-end fit-out projects.
- Spanish – native or fluent (mandatory)/ English – fluent written and spoken (mandatory).
