Dare to Have a Mission:
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and monthly financial statements
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP as well as Bulgarian accounting, tax laws, and regulatory requirements
- Handle more complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, cut-off, and provisions
- Maintain and document accounting policies, procedures, and supporting schedules
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies, and actively support audit processes
- Take ownership of balance sheet integrity, including reviewing reconciliations and resolving discrepancies proactively
- Establish and improve internal controls and accounting processes to support a scalable finance function
- Supervise and support junior accountants in their day-to-day work, providing guidance, review, and ongoing coaching
- Assist the team in resolving complex vendor and customer enquiries and support cross-functional finance-related topics
- Contribute to the development of a structured, high-performing accounting team, with a view to future leadership responsibilities
- Identify and implement process improvements, standardize workflows, and support enhancements in systems and reporting tools
- Perform cash flow analysis and support short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting
- Support the Finance Director with ad hoc analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities
- Provide financial insights and support business decision-making where needed
The Tools in Your Backpack:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of accounting experience
- Strong experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong experience with Bulgarian accounting standards and tax legislation (essential)
- Experience with hotel, restaurant, or inventory accounting is a plus.
- Familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good level of English (written and spoken) is essential, as the role involves regular interaction with international stakeholders.
